KARACHI, Feb 4: All arrangements have been finalized by various political parties, social welfare and non-governmental organizations to observe the Kashmir Solidarity Day on Wednesday.

Kashmiris living in Karachi will hold a demonstration in front of the Karachi Press Club under the aegis of the Anjuman Naujawanan-i-Islam, Azad Kashmir, to highlight the atrocities of Indian army against the innocent people.

Sindh Chief Minister Ali Mohammad Mahar in a message said, “the people of Sindh have always joined the nation to show their moral support to their Kashmiri brethren in their just struggle for self-determination.”

He said that the international community was under obligation to resolve the issue in accordance with the United Nations resolutions.

The city government will also arrange walks, mushairas, poster competitions and debate programmes in educational institutions.

A rally will be taken from the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam under the aegis of the city government.

The main rally will be joined by several other rallies comprising schoolchildren, originating from every town.

Town Nazimeen will lead the rallies of their towns, the participants will carry national flag and speeches will be delivered on Kashmir.

The education department will hold speech competitions in schools while a picture exhibition will be held at the Arts Council of Pakistan.

A mushaira will also be arranged by North Nazimabad Town at night.

Speaking at a meeting to review the arrangements, City Nazim Naimatullah Khan said it had been the policy of every government to extend political, social and moral support to the Kashmiris. This is important because, he added, Quaid-i-Azam had declared Kashmir as the “jugular vein of Pakistan”.

The international community, the City Nazim said, had also accepted the fact that Kashmiris had been waging a struggle for their liberation from the Indian occupation.

A large gathering of boy scouts will be held at the provincial headquarters on the Din Mohammad Wafai Road to take part in various events in connection with the Kashmir Day.

The boy scouts will march towards the Karachi Press Club to highlight the importance of the day.

POLITICAL PARTIES: The leaders of various political and religious parties in Hyderabad have condemned India for trying to portray the Kashmiri freedom fighters as terrorists and vowed to observe the day with a pledge to express their moral support to the people of the valley.
