HYDERABAD, Jan 31: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad has said that peaceful and tranquil atmosphere was essential for the development and prosperity of the province.

He was speaking at a reception hosted in his honour by the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI), at the Press Club, here on Thursday.

He said conducive environment was equally necessary for the revival of commercial and industrial activities as well as investment. The government was determined to improve the law and order situation in the province, he added.

The unemployment could only be eliminated by setting up new industrial units. The governor said Hyderabad had been neglected in the past and added that steps would be taken for the development of this historical city.

HCCI president Abdul Razzaq Memon apprised the governor of problems and difficulties being faced by the trade and industry and demanded an special package for the development of the city.
