KARACHI, Jan 30: Nazim Karachi Naimatullah Khan has imposed section 144 CrPC, prohibiting movement of heavy vehicles within the limits of the city government from 7 to 10am and 4 to 8pm.

The ban has been imposed in view of the fact that movement of heavy vehicles within the limits of the city government is a major cause of frequent fatal accidents.

COLLECTION OF HIDES: The Nazim has, under section 144 CrPC, ordered that no person, agency, association and organization shall collect hide/skin in camps/vehicles, on roads, bungalows and offices on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

Through section 144 he has also prohibited publicity for such collection by advertisement, banners, handbills announcements and chalking, or by other means, except with prior approval in writing from the city Nazim or the EDO revenue.

The order shall come into force from February 1 and remain in force for seven days.—APP
