KARACHI, Jan 30: Three young men committed suicide in the city between late Wednesday night and Thursday.
A young man shot and wounded a young girl and later shot himself to death in the police limits of Mubina Town on Thursday.
The police said Raja Ali, aged 19, barged into the house of Yasmeen, aged 17, in Bilawal goth in the police limits of Sachal and shot and wounded her. The bullet pierced through the girl’s head.
Raja Ali escaped on foot from the girl’s house.
Neighbours and the girl’s family members chased him up to the main Suparco Road. When Raja Ali came on the main road, he shot himself in the temple, in front of Ideal Grammar School.
The injured girl has been admitted to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) in a critical condition.
The Town police officer of Gulshan Town, Dr Sanaullah Abbasi, said Raja Ali wanted to marry Yasmeen, but the family opposed it.
The police said Raja Ali, resident of North Nazimabad, worked as a mechanic in an auto repair workshop in the area and the girl used to pass through that route while going to her educational institution.
The police said the incident involved the jurisdictions of two police stations.

The police said Mohammed Naeem, aged 20, doused his body with petrol and set himself on fire at Mianwali Colony in the police limits of Shahrah-i-Noor Jehan.
He was admitted to Civil Hospital, where he died on Thursday morning.
Naeem suffered a mental shock after his sister returned from her in-laws’ home in Khairpur.
A young man killed himself by taking poison at his house in Al-Falah, Malir.
The police said Khalid Hasan, aged 25, consumed poison after failure in love.
He was admitted to the JPMC where he died on Thursday morning.
