HYDERABAD, Jan 28: The Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, on Tuesday directed the Dadu DPO to probe into allegations levelled against police officials of the Dadu district by a petitioner.
Mohammad Bux Mirbahar had filed the petition through Ayaz Latif Palijo, citing the SHO of Dadu police station, TPO and DPO of Dadu, as respondents.
He said on June 4, 2002, SHO Mukhtiar Hussain Sario asked him to lend his taxi free of cost for five days and when he refused he was threatened with dire consequences.
The petitioner said the next day, policemen raided his house and misbehaved with women, besides harassing them. The policemen also took away Rs25,000, he said.
He said when he went to Hyderabad to send telegrams to higher authorities concerned, the SHO registered a false case against him.
He said he filed a constitutional petition before the SHC bench, and on July 9, the court disposed of the petition with directives to the police not to harass the petitioner and his family members.
The petitioner said after being re-posted at the Dadu police station, the SHO again started issuing threats to him.
He said the SHO implicated him in another false when he sent telegrams to higher authorities concerned on Nov 15 and 19.
He said he approached the high-ups, including the DPO, for registration of an FIR, but no action was taken.
He prayed the court to direct police officials not to harass him and his family members.
