KARACHI, Jan 27: Presidential spokesman and director-general of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Maj-Gen. Rashid Qureshi visited the residence of Mehdi Hasan here on Monday.

He communicated greetings and good wishes on behalf of the President of Pakistan, General Pervez Musharraf, to him and inquired about his health.

He said Mehdi Hasan is a national asset and every Pakistani is proud of him.

He praised the national songs by the maestro and said that they would remain evergreen in the hearts of the people in the times to come.

He said that everyone was praying for the early recovery of Mehdi Hasan.

Maj. Gen. Qureshi presented a cheque for Rs1 million on behalf of the President as a token of appreciation from the nation in recognition of the tremendous contribution of Mehdi Hasan in the field of music.—PPI
