SINGAPORE, Jan 27: Project financing in Asia for 2002 totalled $16.6 billion, surpassing the previous year’s $11 billion, a report said on Monday.
The largest portion of the project financing took place in the transportation sector with $5.8 billion worth of loans issued, followed by the power sector which saw $4.2 billion worth of funds borrowed, financial service provider Thomson Financial said. Petrochemicals ranked third with $3.9 billion, the report said.—AFP
