PPP leader beats up Wapda team

GUJRAT, Jan 26: Lalamusa PPP president Malik Mushtaq and some of his supporters allegedly beat up five Wapda officials who had detected electricity theft at Mr Mushtaq’s residence in Muhalla Qasba.

Wapda SDO (Lalamusa) Mirza Hanif told police that acting on a tip-off that Mr Mushtaq was stealing electricity through a direct connection to the main supply line, a Wapda team visited the site and was beaten up when it tried to severe the connection.

The police registered a case against Malik Mushtaq under Section 186/39-A of the Electricity Act.
