ISLAMABAD, Feb 11: Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) will hold a seminar on Wednesday, the birth anniversary of Faiz Ahmed Faiz while National Language Authority will organise the Ahmad Faraz Literary Award ceremony on Thursday.

The seminar on Faiz Ahmed Faiz will be held at 3pm and Senator Aitzaz Ahsan, who is also a poet, will preside over the event. Iftikhar Arif and Attaul Haq Qasmi will be the chief guests.

Prof Yusuf Hassan, Agha Nasir and Dr Ravish Nadeem will present their papers on the life and works of Faiz. Poetry of Faiz will also be sung by renowned singers.

On the other hand, Ahmad Faraz Literary Award ceremony will be held on Thursday at 2pm in National Language Authority.

The event is being organised by Ahmad Faraz Trust. The ceremony will be presided over by Abid Hassan Manto while former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor Barrister Masood Kausar will be the chief guest.

A committee set up by Ahmad Faraz Trust has nominated Poet Dr Khurshid Rizvi for the Ahmed Faraz Award. The award along with Rs100,000 will be handed over to Mr Rizvi during the ceremony.
