Two banks declare profit rates

KARACHI, Jan 16: The Habib Bank AG Zurich on Thursday declared the following rates of profit for the half year ended December 31, 2002, says a press release.

Special Notice Deposit: 7 days 2pc; 30 days 2.75pc.

Saving Deposit: 5pc.

Term Deposit: 1 month 3.5pc; 3 months 4.5pc; 6 months 5pc; 1 year 5.5pc; 2 years 6pc; 3 years 6.5pc; 4 years 6.75; and 5 years 7pc.

Habib Zurich Flexi-Deposit Certificates (as per scheme): Annualize rate of return 6.59pc.

Habib Zurich-Monthly Profit (as per scheme): Annualize rate of return 4.8pc.

Special notice time deposits: 7 days 3pc; 30 days 3.25pc.

Savings: PLS saving 4pc; home management savings 4.25pc; women’s own savings 4.25pc; and student savings 4.25 pc.

Hyper profit scheme (current cum savings): For deposits of Rs100,000 to Rs4,999,999 4pc; for deposits of Rs5,000,000 to Rs49,999,999 4.50pc; for deposits of Rs50,000,000 to Rs99,999,999 4.75pc; for deposits of Rs100,000,000 to Rs499,999,999 5.50pc; and for deposits of Rs500,000,000 and above 5.75pc.

Term deposits: 3 months 4.50pc; 6 months 5pc; 1 year 5.50pc; 2 years 6pc; 3 years 7pc; and 5 years 7.50pc.
