HYDERABAD, Jan 12: The Citizens’ Network for Human Development here on Saturday organized a seminar on “Women in Politics”.

Speaking at the seminar, Muttahida Qaumi Movement MNA Khalid Wahab said women had proved their mettle in different fields and they had been good administrators in several institutions.

He said in the Oct 10 election, 12 women had secured general seats and added they could play an important role in politics.

As the head of any institution, women had demonstrated a strict discipline, he said.

MPA Farheen Mughal said the government was maintaining double standards regarding women parliamentarians, as those, elected on the general seats, were being given funds and those, elected on the reserved seats, were being denied funds on the ground that they had no constituency.
