HYDERABAD, Jan 12: People’s Party Parliamentarians president Makhdoom Mohammad Amin Fahim has said action will be taken against those who defected the party.

He was talking to newsmen at his Hala residence on Saturday after attending the 10th death anniversary function of his father, Makhdoom Mohammad Zaman Talibul Maula.

He said there was no contact between Benazir Bhutto and the PPP-Patriots.

About the present government, he said instead of serving people, it was busy in breaking members of the parliament.

He said the PML-Q government was concentrating on protecting interests of its own leaders.

He also expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the country.

The PPP leader said the problems of price-hike and joblessness were also on the rise in the country.

He criticized the government for sacking employees of different departments, saying joblessness would result in economic distress of people.

Fahim denied there were any differences between him and Ms Bhutto.

He said because of policies of the government agencies, the PPP could not form governments at the Centre and in Sindh that was why he had opted to resign from the party leadership.

He said Ms Bhutto had not accepted his resignation and had asked him to continue as the Parliamentarians president.

Referring to the local government system, he pointed out differences had arisen between Sindh ministers and Nazims.

In his opinion, the local government system had failed to deliver.

About the FBI raids in the country, the PPP chief said it was a direct interference in the affairs of the country.

He said the people would not tolerate such activities.

Fahim laid a floral wreath on the shrine of Makhdoom Talibul Maula.

A Mehfil-i-Zikr was also held.

anniversary: PPP MNA and in charge of the PPP’s Human Rights Cell Fauzia Wahab has said that the late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had brought about an economic revolution in the country and had been instrumental in uniting the leaders of different Muslim states.

She was speaking at the 75th birth anniversary of the late Z. A. Bhutto, which was held at the residence of PPP leader Usman Kennedy on Saturday.

She said that Bhutto was given the reins of the country when it was disintegrated in 1971.

She said that Bhutto was a ray of hope for the people as he had united all the Muslim leaders on one platform.

She said that it was he who had brought about an economic revolution because of his statesmanship, leading to the prosperity of the country.

Usman Kennedy, Haneef Khan, Fayaz Shah, Ghulam Rasool, and Amanullah Siyal also spoke on the occasion.

They said that the present government was the continuation of Gen Pervez Musharraf’s rule over the country.

They said that under a planned conspiracy the country had been left at the disposal of the FBI.

They said that Gen Ziaul Haq had hanged Bhutto on America’s insistence over his nuclear policy.
