ATTOCK, Jan 8: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has always rendered sacrifices for the country and Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Shaheed changed the minds of the nation.

This was stated by the chief coordinator (PPP) and former senator, Malik Hakmeen Khan, while speaking at a function held in connection with the 75th anniversary of Mr Bhutto at his residence.

A large number of PPP workers and PSF activists, former party candidates from Attock — Shahan Malik and Sheikh Ehsan advocate — and other party leaders also participated in the function.

The chief coordinator said PPP was the only political party which enjoys maximum support in the country. People are anxiously waiting for the arrival of their self-exiled leader, Benazir Bhutto, as only the PPP can get the country out of the prevailing crisis, he added.

“The PPP has decided to launch a countrywide workers mobilization campaign on the instructions of party’s chairperson and proposals will be sought from activists and other PPP leaders to reunite the party.”

The PPP leader hailed the service of Mr Bhutto in making Pakistan a nuclear power and raising the status of downtrodden people.

Speaking on the occasion, the former candidate for NA-57 seat and son of Malik Hakmeen Khan, Shahan Malik, said Mr Bhutto had given the country an ideology in the form of PPP. Turncoats can not damage the party in the presence of dedicated workers, he added.

“Nobody can be tricked by those who got votes in the name of the party, but subsequently changed loyalties for their own interests.”

He also criticized some of the PPP office bearers in Attock district, including president and general-secretary for their anti-party attitude.

Meanwhile, a resolution was also passed demanding immediate removal of these leaders from the party.
