SWABI, Jan 8: The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) should accelerate its work for the provision of computerized national identity cards as its delaying tactics has created various problems for the card-seekers.
Castigating the Nadra’s role and questioning its credibility, the computerized ID card seekers told Dawn here on Tuesday that a number of people are still eagerly waiting for their computerized ID cards and those who had already received cards said that various mistakes had been committed by the Nadra staff.
Sher Azam, Zajar Khan, Roozam Khan, Bakhat Sher and a number of other persons of Maneri Bala told Dawn that they had received their ID cards about five months back but neither their names nor home address were written correct and they were forced to re- apply for their cards under the ordinary scheme in September.
Fazeed Ahmad of Topi said that his name was written Fareed Ahmad and similar mistakes had been committed in the ID cards of his family members.
“The Nadra has lost its credibility and even the passport office, Peshawar, had asked the passport seekers to bring their non-computerized ID cards and only then they could apply for either renewal or fresh passport.
