KARACHI, Jan 8: The renovation work at the city council hall is progressing at a fast pace and will be completed by the middle of next month, while tenders are being issued for installation of sound system.

This was stated in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Naib Nazim Tariq Hasan to review the progress of the renovation work. He directed the officials to install a proper anti-fire system in the hall.

The Naib Nazim called for immediate shifting of the offices of the law department to the city government complex to avoid any delay in the renovation work.

In the 37-foot-wide and 67-foot-long hall, round tables and chairs are being fixed, besides making the hall fully air- conditioned. The work, at a cost of Rs11 million, is being carried out by the city government.—APP
