NOWSHERA, Nov 23: Around 10 burglars posing as plain-clothes policemen took away cash, jewellery and other valuables at gunpoint from the house of an Afghan refugee at the Urmar Colony near Noshera Cantt on Wednesday.
Lodging an FIR of the incident with Nowshera Kalan police, Saif Ahmad Javed, an Afghan refugee from the Kunduz province, stated that about 10 bandits masquerading as plain-clothes policemen forced their entry into his house “for search.”
He told the police that the thieves locked the women in a room at gunpoint and took away four sets of jewellery, $8500 and Rs25,000 in cash, four mobile sets, four passports with visas of Denmark stamped on them and other valuables.
Saif stated that at around 11am he went to the market for shopping and in the meantime the burglars struck, five of whom entering the house and five standing guard outside. He said that the burglars spoke Pashto and Persian (Dari).
