PESHAWAR, Jan 7: Several areas of the Peshawar district and the adjoining Federally Administered Tribal Areas experienced power shutdown due to a major fault in the 132kv double circuit Peshawar-Mardan line on Monday.
An spokesman for the Wapda’s Peshawar office told Dawn that the affected areas were provided electricity through alternative sources, including Burhan Power House and the Sheikh Mohammadi grid station.
“As the repair work would have taken three to four hours, the affected areas were provided electricity through alternative sources,” said the spokesman. He said different areas experienced power outage from 10 to 30 minutes. Due to the fault, power supply from Badhber, Mattani, Warsak, Jamrud, Landi Kotal, Hayatabad and University Town grid stations was also suspended.
