ISLAMABAD Jan 1: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday urged the government to lodge a strong protest with the Washington over the reported clash between the paramilitary forces of Pakistan and the US troops and immediately stop all US- led military operations in the tribal areas.

Akbar S Babar, Central Information Secretary of the PTI, said such incidents would add to hatred against the US policies and its presence in the region.

“The government must restore the sovereignty of the country by closing down all US bases and ending the FBI activities.” He said the activities of the FBI operatives undermined the sovereignty of the country and must be stopped forthwith.

He regretted that despite the wholehearted support to the international community in war on terror, the Pakistanis in the United States were being treated as “potential terrorists” and their basic human rights usurped that amounted to insulting the entire nation.
