PESHAWAR, Jan 1: The director-general of National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) in NWFP, Brig Mohammad Anwar has said 70  per cent work had been completed on  preparation  of computerized national identity cards for the citizens in NWFP.

He was briefing to the NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani at the Frontier House on Wednesday, said a handout.

The chief minister on the occasion said collecting exact  data  was a pre-requisite for future planning  and development strategy of the country. “Without systematic data, no planning, no implementation and no strategy would be workable nor any direction could be determined for the over all development of the province,” Akram Durrani said.

The Nadra DG told the chief minister that 70 per cent work had been done on the NICs and work on the rest of the NICs was in full swing.

Akram Durrani assured the Nadra chief of providing necessary infrastructure for preparing exact data of the citizens.
