LAHORE, Dec 31: A six-event card has been charted out for the midweek Lahore Gymkhana races to be held at the Racecourse on Wednesday.

All events will be contested over the sprinting distance of 1000 metres. In all, 75 acceptors are to take part in all the events, if there are no last-minute withdrawals.

There are at least five to six form runners in each event who are on chance. Besides there are some maidens, who have not yet won a race. The presence of such runners makes all races an open affair and picking winners becomes a difficult task which sends a note of warning to punters.

In the sixth and feature event, the Kotri Plate, class VII division  V there are ten acceptors,  barring  last-minute withdrawals. Of them four come on chance. They are: Tripple M, Royal Gunner, Hunza and Senna. They should fight it out.

Meanwhile the Lahore Race Club (LRC) has directed all jockeys and riding boys to attend an important meeting in the office of the LRC associate secretary prior to Wednesday’s races.

The abstentions will be dealt with severely and may lose their riding licence.

The first race is scheduled to start at 12.30 pm.
