RAWALPINDI, Dec 31: The station commander Rawalpindi Cantonment Board, Brig Hamid Khalil, has set January 22 as the deadline for officials to complete the bifurcation process, officials sources told Dawn.

The sources said Chaklala Cantonment Board (CCB) would formally start functioning as the stipulated time ends.

“Everything will be in place by January 23 and formal work of the new cantonment will start from that day,” a cantonment official said. The sources said different tasks related to the bifurcation had been assigned to the related departmental heads and other officials.

The officials have been asked to prepare a list of all employees, assets, liabilities, vehicles and other things and in what ratio these are to be divided between the two cantonments, they added.
