KARACHI, Dec 30: A large number of workers, alongwith the widows of workers of a sugar mill in Talhar, staged a demonstration at the press club on Monday to protest against the non-payment of their dues.
They alleged that the mill owner, who was a relative of a Badin MNA, had not paid their dues which totaled up to millions of rupees.
They claimed that dues of 16 workers who had died, 23 workers who had retired, and 26 workers who had resigned, were not paid.
The workers said that they had been holding protest demonstrations at the Talhar Press Club and then at Hyderabad Press Club, but to no avail.
