RAWALPINDI, Dec 29: A man was shot dead in Naseerabad Mohallah while another committed suicide in G-6/1 here on Sunday.
Mohammad Daud told Westridge police that Wajahat Shah and Sohail Shah came to his house on Saturday night and called his son, Abid Ali. He said they left the house, but did not return. The following day, his son’s body was found from the house of the two brothers who were missing, he said.
According to the police, Abid Ali was shot dead allegedly by the two brothers who took him to their house. However, the motive behind the murder is being investigated.
In another incident, a 24-year-old man committed suicide by taking poisonous tablets after he failed to meet the treatment cost of his daughter.
He was shifted to the Federal Government Services hospital on Sunday where he died.
Police said Farhat Javaid, a resident of G-6/1 sector, recorded his statement with the police before he died. He said he had been in distress since his daughter fell ill.
CLINIC LOOTED: Four robbers stormed into a private clinic situated in Harley Street on Sunday night and looted the doctors and patients, police said.
Dr Tariq told the police that he along with some other doctors was attending the patients when all of a sudden four persons barged into his clinic at around 8:30pm.
He said: “The robbers, who seemed to be between 25 to 30 years, ordered us to give up cash and jewellery. They snatched cash and gold rings, bangles, mobile telephone sets and wrist watches from the doctors and patients and locked us in a room before fleeing.”
