KARACHI, Sept 7: The city has received over 49 millimetres (1.92 inches) of rain in the past 24 hours, said Met officials on Friday evening.

Since Friday morning, around the city has received around 4.5 millimetres (0.17 inches) of rain and more is expected on Saturday.

According to the Met Office, Nazimabad received 4.5 millimetres (0.17 inches) of rain, the maximum amount of rain since Friday morning.

On the other hand, the other areas received around 2 millimetres (0.078 inches) of downpour. The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) base at Masroor received only a slight drizzle while the Faisal base also received 2 millimetres (0.078 inches) of rain.

The model observatory at Karachi University received 2.2 millimetres (0.086 inches).

The minimum temperature recorded in the city was 25 degrees Celsius while the maximum was 33 degrees Celsius with humidity at 61 per cent.

The maximum temperature expected on Saturday is between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius.
