KARACHI, Dec 24: A low-intensity tremor was recorded in the western parts of Karachi at 2pm on Tuesday, the Met office and the residents of Mauripur said.

“It was a very localized and minor jolt as even its epicentre could not be ascertained and was felt in some parts of Mauripur and Site area,” a spokesman for the Met office said.

Many residents of the areas said that their household items were shaken by the jolt and they rushed out of their houses.

Meanwhile, the city on Monday night again received rain which started at a slow pace at around 00.50hrs and gradually turned into heavy showers.

According to the Met office, North Karachi received 18.7mm, Garden 7.2mm, Masroor 7mm, Karachi West 5.3mm, PAF Faisal 4mm and Karachi East 3mm.

The weather will remain fair with cold night on Wednesday. The minimum temperature will range from 12 to 14 degrees centigrade. The minimum temperature remained 15.5°C on Tuesday. — APP
