HUB, Dec 21: A head-on collision between a truck and a wagon late Friday night claimed the lives of two persons and injured three people near Gaddani Mor, on the main RCD Highway.
The truck, bearing registration number LSB-934, was coming from Karachi and while overtaking near Gaddani Mor collided head on with the wagon (MB-462). Wagon passengers Wali Mohammed, resident of Thatta, and Abdul Razaq, resident of Karachi, died at the impact, whereas three other people were injured.
All of them were taken to Jam Mir Ghulam Qadir Hospital from where Abdul Hameed son of Saleem was shifted to Karachi civil hospital owing to precarious condition.
The truck driver escaped after the accident.
PRIORITIES: Hub Tehsil Nazim Jamil Gichki has said that employment, electricity, water, health related facilities and other basic amenities to the people are the top priorities of the provincial government.
Briefing the newsmen at his office on Saturday about his visit to Quetta where he met Chief Minister Jam Mohammed Yousaf, local bodies’ minister and the secretary, the Tehsil Nazim said that Mr Yousaf was determined to help the people overcome the problems they were facing.
He said that the chief minister said that the ongoing development projects would be completed at the earliest.
When asked whether the chief minister had set any package for the people of Lasbela, Mr Gichki said that a committee, comprising members of the local bodies, representatives of the Lasbela Industrial Estate Development Authority (LIEDA), industrialist, ship breakers, and government official, would be formed to work out a formula for creating job opportunities to the people of the area and address the problems faced by the industrialists.
The Nazim quoted the chief minister as saying: “Hub and other areas of Lasbela district will soon get water from K-III project set for Karachi and electricity at flat rates.”
He added that Mr Yousaf would soon visit the district and might announce a special package for the area.
