KARACHI: Conductor run over by bus

KARACHI, Dec 21: Reckless driving claimed one life in the city on Saturday.

A bus conductor died when he fell from a footboard of a moving minibus to the road and was struck by another minibus.

Police said that Tariq Javed, aged 28, father of two, was travelling as a conductor on a minibus (JE-2126). He lost his control over his body while standing on a footboard of the minibus and fell to the road on Abul Hasan Ispahani Road. He was struck by another minibus, coming behind the minibus, resulting in his instantaneous death.

Tariq’s family took the body away for burial and declined to lodge a case against the bus drivers, police said.
