KARACHI: 26 vehicles hijacked

KARACHI, Dec 18: Twenty-six vehicles — eight cars and 18 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Wednesday, police said.

Three cars were hijacked. Five others were stolen.

Eleven motorcycles were hijacked. Seven others were stolen. Police also claimed on Wednesday to have recovered 18 vehicles in the city.

ROBBERIES: Two robberies were committed in the city on Wednesday, police said.

Bandits robbed passengers of a Metro Bus in Malir. Police said that two armed men robbed passengers of a Metro Bus of cash and valuables at gunpoint near Liaquat market.

“The passengers came to Malir City police station where they did not lodge FIR, but demanded that the owner of the bus service pay them compensation,” a duty officer at the police station said.

Armed men looted a house in Model Colony, Malir, late Tuesday night. Bandits barged into the house of Qazi Noor Azam, held the occupants of the house hostage at gunpoint and got away with Rs8,000 and valuables.
