HYDERABAD, July 20: The Sindh University administration has rejected the white paper issued by the Sindh University Teachers Association (Suta) and termed its contents fabricated.

A statement issued by the administration on Friday said that the record of medical expenditure on the treatment of the vice-chancellor from January 2010 showed a total of Rs3,20602. A senior professor is entitled to a monthly medical allowance of Rs8,618 per in addition to Rs400,000 per year for hospitalisation through insurance cover.

It also denied awarding transport contract to a son of an officer. An outside individual succeeded in getting the contract through bidding.

Regarding foreign visits, it said the chancellor issued NOC to every foreign visit of a vice-chancellor.

Each appointment is made in accordance to rules and regulations applicable to employees belonging to the Sindh University Employees Welfare Association (Sewa) and, therefore, no illegal appointments were made as alleged. Late examinations fee was received through bank challans and not in cash, it said.
