KARACHI, Dec 17: A young woman committed suicide in Ranchhore Lines on Tuesday.
Police said Shabana, aged 28, wife of Mohammed Hanif and mother of a child, jumped from the sixth floor of Lal Building in Ranchhore Lines. She died on the spot.
The body was sent to Civil Hospital for post-mortem.
Quoting the family sources, police said the dead woman was mentally unstable. Before committing suicide, she had breakfast with her husband.
ACCIDENTS: A young man died in a road accident in Liaquatabad late Monday night.
Police said Iftikhar Ali, aged 26, was getting down from a moving bus of route 7-C near the Dak Khana bus stop when he lost his balance and came under the rear wheels of the bus. He died on the spot.
The body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem. The bus driver escaped after the accident.
Usually bus drivers do not fully stop buses at bus stops. This habit of drivers has claimed many lives.
Three persons were injured in road accidents.
Two passengers were injured when a speeding bus rammed into a traffic police kiosk at Numaish in the morning.
A police official present in the kiosk narrowly escaped the accident, as he was then sitting in the neighbouring room.
Police said a speeding bus of route 4-K (JA-1172) on way from Gurumandir to Numaish rammed into the traffic police kiosk partially destroying it.
As a result of the accident, two passengers travelling in the bus, Ashiq Ali and Nawaz were injured. They were rushed to Civil Hospital.
The bus driver escaped after the accident.
A truck cleaner was injured when two oil tankers overturned on Super Highway in the morning.
An oil tanker (E-7024) overturned near Ansari Bridge on Super Highway spilling oil on the highway. Subsequently, an oil tanker of the NLC (882241) skidded and overturned on the highway.
A truck cleaner, identified as Imran, was injured in the accident. He was rushed to a private hospital by the Motorway police.
Following the accident and oil-spill normal traffic on the highway remained suspended for several hours.
