The bang behind the universe

Arif Ali Abbasi has brilliantly explained how the universe came into being in the article The bang behind the universe. I had heard of the concept of the Big Band but did not know what it really was. Thanks to Young World and Mr Abbasi, now I understand it.

I find astronomy fascinating but there has rarely been an article about it in the local magazines and what we read online on websites focused on science are a bit difficult to understand for children like myself. I really enjoyed reading this article and hope the writer would continue writing more about the universe we live in.

Word buzz I would request that the section Word buzz should carry sentences along with the meaning of the idiom to make it easier for us to use it. It is a very helpful section and it would become better this way. Naeema Qureshi, Hyderabad

Family tree kids

This is with reference to the website review Family tree kids by Aamir Raz Soomro (YW, May 19, 2012). The website was interesting and I have made my family tree on it. It is an interesting way to remember our family members.

Career counselling

I am an old reader of YW and I have gained much from it in the form of knowledge, vocabulary, ethical values, etc.

I want to suggest that a regular column focused on career counselling should be included because it will help school and college students to make the right choice in future.

Why so lazy?

The article Why so lazy? by Rahul Karamat Barlaas (June 16, 2012), was worth reading.

The writer focussed on spending the summer vacation in a disciplined way and he mentioned some really valuable tips for this purpose, such as making a timetable, getting up early and staying neat and tidy. We must follow them in order to spend our summer holidays in an organised way.

Scholarships

This is with reference to the letter Scholarships by Mahnoor Rana (June 16, 2012). Mahnoor suggested that a section on various scholarship programmes for the students should be included in the magazine.

I support her idea and request the Young World team to include this section in the magazine as it will benefit us a lot.

This week in history was a valuable column which provided us with great information. I request the YW team to restart this section.

(II)

This week in history and Time check were must-read columns of Young World for me. They provided me with valuable knowledge and made the subject of history interesting for me.

Therefore, I request the YW team to restart these columns.

Be safe, stay vigilant

This is with reference to the article Be safe, stay vigilant by Muhammad Omar Iftikhar (March 10, 2012).

I completely agree with the writer that we should be very careful while sharing anything personal with strangers because a little carelessness can cause a lot of trouble for us.
