KARACHI: World Post Day observed

KARACHI, Oct 9: A function was held on Tuesday at the General Post Office on I.I. Chundrigar Road to observe the 127th World Post Day.

Highlighting the importance of the World Post Day, the postmaster general of Sindh, Qamar Afzal-ul-Jamil Sheikh, said the World Post Day was celebrated every year on Oct 9. “The Union Postal Union was established in Bern, Switzerland, on Oct 9, 1878. Pakistan became a member of the UPU in Nov 1947.”

Cash prizes to the winners of SAF game cards were distributed by the city Nazim, Naimatullah Khan. Winners of a letter-writing competition also received prizes.
