KARACHI, Oct 9: PIA continues to operate flights to destinations in Balochistan, Imran Gardezi, said a PIA spokesman.

Referring to reports, he said PIA would be operating flight to Quetta on Wednesday.

He pointed out that flight frequency had been reduced because of low passenger load on various domestic sectors.

He said on some sectors flights have been combined because of this very reason.

To a question about PIA operations on international sectors, he said some flights have been cancelled because of reduced passenger traffic. However, PIA has been able to maintain 65 per cent of passenger load which is not bad under prevailing conditions when world-over the leading airlines have suffered crisis.

He said PIA has reduced its operations by 15 per cent while cargo-lifting is being carried out at 100 per cent capacity. He said there is no backlog and cargo received 72 hours in advance, is transported according to the exporter’s requirement.—APP
