KARACHI, Dec 13: Six ships including a car carrier with 304 units are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was active where five ships, Jamila, Iron-D to unload and load containers, Sondos to offload vehicles, Good Hope to offload crude oil and Al-Velas to unload oils were berthed after the departure of three.
The ships, which departed were led by Al-Wajba, Iran Ghaffari and Apsheron, while Sinar Bontang, Iron-D, Good Hope, and Al Velas are due to sail out on Saturday.
Berth occupancy at the oil piers rose to 67 per cent thanks to steady arrivals of the tankers, while it fell to 42 per cent on dry wharves.
A total tonnage of 96,389 tons comprising 10.288 tons of export cargo including 1,893 tons of rice and 86,101 tons of import tonnage was handled. The following ships are due on Saturday: Babur Kaptan and Pontos to load molasses, Nord Strength, with gas oil, E.O.S.I and PONL Singapore, with containers and Pegasus Highway, with 304 cars.
KARACHI, Dec 13: Four ships scheduled to load/offload wheat, containers, furnace oil and chemicals arrived at the outer anchorage during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Friday.
Six ships, Francisca Schulte, Bruxelles, Bunga Melati, Panamax Strength, Shou Ning Hai and K-Fortune were at the wharves loading/discharging containers, edible oil, wheat, general cargo and coal respectively.
A cargo volume of 32,599 tons comprising 25,221 tons of import cargo and 7,378 tons of export tonnage, inclusive of cargo carried in 895 containers (Teus) was handled.
Sailing was also active as Msc Bruxelles sailed out while Bunga Melati was due to leave the port on Friday.
Two ships, Msc Deila and Chem Star Eagle were expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Marginal Wharf.
