ISLAMABAD, Dec 12: The Government of Japan will provide funds to Pakistan for eradication of polio.
A signing ceremony and exchange of notes in this regard will take place here on Dec 14. Minoru Shibuya, ambassador of Japan, and Ms. Carroll Long, the UNICEF representative, will sign the agreement in presence of Federal Health Minister Mohammad Nasir Khan.
Pop-singer and Pakistan’s Goodwill Ambassador for Polio Eradication Jawad Ahmed, a young woman Amna, a victim of polio, senior government officials, diplomats, UN and media representatives and all key partners in the Polio Eradication Initiative will attend the ceremony.
