PPP leaders likely to meet Azhar today

LAHORE, Dec 12: Two PPP leaders visited the residence of PML-Q president Mian Azhar on Thursday only to be informed that he was not at home.

Now, they are likely to meet him on Friday.

Khalid Kharal and Munir Ahmad Khan had gone there to express solidarity with Mian Azhar who, they think, is being maltreated by his party.

“Head of a government cannot run the country according to the constitution when he cannot adhere to his party constitution,” Munir Khan said while referring to the appointment of Salim Saifullah Khan as acting secretary-general of the PML-Q.

He said in such a situation the PPP thought that solidarity should be expressed with Mian Azhar and he should be encouraged to stand by principles.
