Pakistanis advance

LAHORE, Dec 5: All four Pakistani players have moved to the last 16 of the 12th World Junior Men’s squash championship in Chennai, India, according to a message received Thursday.

Khayal  Mohammad, Majid Khan, Khalid Atlas  and  Safeerullah Khan won their matches.

Unfortunately,  Arshad Iqbal Burki one of the  top  players has  withdrawn from the championship and returned home to  attend to a family emergency. His position in the team has been taken over by Khalid Atlas for the team event.

Khayal beat Josh Greenfield (New Zealand) 9-2, 9-6, 9-4.

Majid outplayed Rohan Lyall (Kenya) 9-0, 9-0, 9-0.

Khalid proved to good against Nasser Al Rammezi (Kuwait)  9- 6, 9-2, 9-3.

Shahnawaz  strecthed  to  five  games  by  host player, Guarav Nandaraj, the second seed of India won with  scoreline 0-9, 9-5, 9-2, 7-9, 9 -7.
