LAHORE, Nov 18: Shah Shamyl Alam scored four goals to help Lahore Chatkhara beat Millat Tractors 9-8 1/2 to annex the Ghulam Muhammad memorial polo tournament at the Lahore Polo Club ground Sunday.
Malik Atif Yar Tiwana pumped in five goals but could not save Millat Tractors from defeat.
In an another low-scoring game, Power Soft beat Sherwood 4-3 1/2 to finish third.
Millat Tractors had a half-a-goal advantage on handicap and it put in eight goals during the stipulated play.
Although Shah Shamyl Alam dominated the proceedings, the all-important goal was scored by Aurangzeb Monnoo seconds before the final hooter after Millat Trackers led 8 1/2-8.
Millat Tractors dominated the first chukker when it scored three goals against two put in by Lahore Chatkhara to earn a 3 1/2-2 lead. Agha Murtaza opened the scoring for Millat Tractors while Malik Atif Yar Tiwana struck twice for his side. Shah Shamyl Alam and Bilal Haye scored a goal each for Lahore chatkhara.
In the second chukkur, Shamyl scored a field goal with a long lofted hit while Taimur Malik also crowned a field effort. Agha Murtaza scored his second and Millat Tractors’ fourth goal whereas Raja Amir scored his fifth and Atif scored his third and his team’s sixth goal.
Millat Tractors increased its lead to 6 1/2-4 at the halfway stage.
The third chukker was completely dominated by Lahore Chatkhara.
Shamyl put in his third and Millat Tractors’ fifth goal. Aurangzeb Monnoo scored his first goal with a long, lofted shot. Bilal Haye scored his second and the winning team’s seventh goal to earn Lahore Chatkhara a 7-6 1/2 lead for the first time in the final.
The fourth chukker was fiercely contested.
Malik Atif Yar Tiwana scored his fourth goal off a field effort and thereafter, converted a 30 yards penalty-hit to put Millat Tractors ahead again.
Shamyl scored his fourth and Lahore Chatkhara’s eighth goal.

Umer Sadik opened the scoring by putting in the only goal of the first chukker off a field effort. There was no scoring in the second chukker.
Kamran Nooruddin scored a field goal at start of the third chukker. That followed three goals by Sherwood. Syed Hasan Raza Gilani scored on a spot penalty near the goalpost. Mir Shaoib Ahmad and Maula Bakhsah scored a goal each off field efforts.
Power Soft dominated the fourth chukker and earned a win. Umer Sadik scored his second and Power Soft’s third goal. Kamran Nooruddin scored the decisive goal.
