Schedule of water rotation announced

SUKKUR, Nov 30: The irrigation department has announced water rotation programme at Rohri division from Dec 3 to 11 due to acute water shortage in the River Indus.

The water channels of Naulakhi Branch System, like Gul Minor, Lundo Minor, Khushik Minor, Jatoi Minor, Moria Minor, Mahesar Minor and Bakhri Minor, Naoabad Distributary, Kharik Minor, Godho Distributary, Longerli Minor, Haji Minor, the channels of Sehra Branch System, like New Keti Minor, Daliputa Minor, That Minor, Let Minor and Haji Minor, and those of Dad Branch System, such as Mubejani Minor, Noorpur Minor, Daria Minor, Lundki Distributary, Chachro Minor and Nathar Detha Distributary will remain open from Dec 3 and will be closed on Dec 11.

This was announced by the executive engineer, Rohri division, Moro, here on Friday.

DOG-BITE: At least 10 persons, including women and children, were bitten by a stray dog in Pano Aqil on Friday.

All of them, including Qadir Bakhsh, Mohammad Sachal, Zahid Hussain, Ishtiaq and Jafer, were admitted to the taluka hospital.

The people have condemned the Municipal Committee, saying it was doing nothing to control the rising number of stray dogs roaming around the town.

tribal clash: Two men, Musa Qalandrani and Mahram Qalandrani, were killed and six injured in a clash between Chakrani and Qalandrani tribesmen near Tangwani on Friday night.

Panic prevailed in the area after the incident.

Both the tribes are at war for the last one year over the killing of a bandit, Chaker Khan Chakrani.

Khan was killed in a police encounter and the Chakranis blamed the Qalandranis for having informed the police about Khan’s presence in the area.

KIDNAPPED: Two men, Hidayatullah and Rehmatullah, were kidnapped by 10 armed men near Bugti Colony, Kandhkot, on Friday.

The police have registered a case.
