2 nominated for FPCCI top slot

KARACHI, Nov 27: The Businessmen Forum headed by Ilyas Bilour has nominated Riaz Tata and Maqsood Ismail as their candidates for the presidentship of the FPCCI.

In a representative meeting of the group here on Tuesday where members from all the provinces participated, it was decided that in case other groups field their candidates for the FPCCI top slot there would be no rapprochement for consensus candidate.

A decision to this effect was made after taking stock of the prevailing situation. It is the turn of Sindh to nominate its candidate for the presidentship for the FPCCI.

The new two years term for the presidentship and office-bearers of the apex body of trade and industry will start from January 1, 2003.

Under the changed rules, it will be for the first time that the FPCCI will have seven vice presidents, four from each province, one from Azad Kashmir and two each from chamber and trade association.
