ISLAMABAD, Nov 25: The Supreme Court on Monday adjourned hearing of a petition filed by Sindh Democratic Alliance leader Imtiaz Shaikh, challenging the decision of the Election Commission, which after notifying him winner from PS-11, Shikarpur, de-notified the result.
On Nov 12, the court had issued notice to Attorney-General Makhdoom Ali Khan on the petition. The SC bench, comprising Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, Justice Sardar Raza Khan and Justice Falak Sher, allowed the petitioner to change his counsel.
The petitioner informed the court that his counsel had left for Umra and Advocate S.M. Zafar would now represent him.
Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan represented Agha Tariq, the candidate of the People’s Party Parliamentarians, who was declared the winner.
The court issued notices to the Sindh advocate-general and the respondent for Wednesday.
