KARACHI, Nov 19: Three ships including a bulk cargo carrier with 28,000 tons of DAP fertiliser are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was slow owing to delayed arrivals. As a result, only three ships, Kota Wirawan, HSH Ubin to unload and load containers and Singa Ace to offload vehicles were berthed after the sailing of five.
The departing ships were led by Bunga Konari, Med Keelung, Global Paramount, Kota Wirawan and Izumo, while Singa Ace, Vigour, Makran, Banglar Mookh, Shamrock Star and BBC Gibraltar are due to sail out on Wednesday.
Berth occupancy was maintained on the higher side as more ships standing off-port were toe in, rising to 67 and 72 per cent both at the oil piers and the dry wharves respectively.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 83,760 tons comprising 17,869 tons of export cargo and 65,891 tons of import tonnage was handled.
The following ships are due on Wednesday: Al-Mirqab, Sima Bahar, with containers and Mohawk, with DAP fertilizer.
KARACHI, Nov 19: Three ships carrying crude oil, chemicals and coal were allotted berths at Fotco Oil Terminal, Marginal Wharf and Steel Jetty during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, four more ships carrying furnace oil, coal, LPG and containers also arrived at the outer anchorage.
Six ships, Maria, Ince Trans, Imperial, Ievoli Shine, Sawallow and Fanari were busy in loading and discharging wheat, crude oil and chemicals and coal respectively.
A cargo volume of 41,272 tons comprising 13,875 tons of import cargo and 27,397 tons of export cargo was handled.
Abdoun Discovery sailed out, while Ievoli Shine was expected to leave the port on Tuesday.
