ISLAMABAD, Nov 11: The additional district and sessions judge, Chaudhary Muhammad Yunus, on Monday recorded the statement of a police officer in a rape case.

According to the police on January 3, 2001 a nine-year-old girl (A) was gang-raped by her three neighbours, Mumtaz, Riaz Khan and Gul Taj.

The investigation officer, sub-inspector Ashraf Kahut, recorded his statement before the court and quoted the girl as saying that the accused took her forcibly to a nearby jungle, tied her and gang-raped her.

Naheeda Mehmoob Illahi Advocate appeared on behalf of the victim.

BAIL ACCEPTED: Meanwhile, in another case the same judge accepted the bail applications of three accused in Hudood case.

Hamid Bari, Zulfiqar and Muhammad Zaman were arrested by the Kohsar Police and registered case against them under section 13/14 of Zina and section 4 of Hud.

The judge accepted the bail of the accused against Rs50,000 surety bonds each.

DECREE: The family court judge, Nadia Akram Malik, issued on Monday a decree in favour of a woman and directed her husband to pay expenses (nan-i-nufqa) to her. Asra Javed had filed a suit against her husband, Muhammad Shafiq, for payment of expenses.

After hearing the complainant’s lawyer, the judge issued decree in favour of Ms Asra.

BAIL GRANTED: The senior civil judge and judicial magistrate, Arshad Ali, on Monday accepted the bail of an accused in a theft case.

Badr Zaman was arrested for allegedly stealing golden ornaments from a house in the jurisdiction of the women police station. The judge accepted the bail of the accused against surety bond of Rs20,000.
