TORONTO, Nov 5: Foreign nationals living in Canada from about 50 member countries of Commonwealth, including Pakistan, will require visas to enter America if legislation prepared by the US immigration authorities is passed, a report published in a newspaper here says.

Under the proposed law, any citizen of the Commonwealth countries, who lives in Canada but who is not a Canadian citizen, will need valid travel documents to enter the United States, according to a document prepared by the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) and obtained by The Toronto Star, a leading newspaper.

The paper in its Monday’s lead story says that Indians, Pakistanis, South Africans, Jamaicans, Trinidadians etc., will need both a passport and a visa to enter the US for any reason. While citizens of the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore will require valid passport only.
