SUKKUR, Nov 3: A teenager son and a minor daughter of a policeman were killed and his wife, another daughter and two sons were seriously injured in a rocket attack by bandits in Garhi Hasan, Thul taluka, Jacobabad district, late Saturday night.

The deceased were identified as Mohammad Muqeem, 14, and Rashida, 3. The names of the injured are: Dur Bibi, Abdul Hakeem, 12, and Mohammad Shafiq, 4, and Rasheeda, 2. They belong to the family of police constable Faqir Mohammad Chandio.

The condition of the injured was stated to be critical. The bandits fled towards the katcha area after the attack and the police is said to be chasing them.

According to the police opinion, the assailants belonged to the gang of Mazar Sarki, who had been killed in a police encounter some time ago.

The police believed the attack was an act of vengeance as the encounter had taken place on the information of Chandio.

The police constable was not at home at the time of the attack.

Meanwhile, unidentified armed persons kidnapped a constable of the Frontier Constabulary, Pervez Khan, from Bugti Colony in Jacobabad on Sunday.
