Navy grab trophy

RAWALPINDI, Nov 1: Pakistan Navy edged out Sui Southern Gas in a penalty shoot-out to win the 5th All Pakistan ARL Invitation Hockey Tournament Friday.

The two teams were locked in a goalless draw within the scheduled period of play and then again were tied 3-3 in the first round of five penalty strokes each.

Nadeem of Pakistan Navy scored the first stroke of the sudden-death period but Mansoor of SSG hit the pole, leading to victory for the sailors.

Nadeem, thus, scored two goals while the other goal-getters for Pakistan Navy were Imran and Asif Baig.

Mansoor, Izhar and Zia slammed one penalty stroke each in the first round of penalty shoot-out for SSG.—APP
