Gas-leak death toll rises

KAMOKE, Oct 31: Two more victims of gas leakage here died at Mayo Hospital in Lahore on Thursday.

Eight members of a family including five women and three children had suffered severe burns on Wednesday when one of them lit a match in the kitchen and caused a fire that engulfed the whole house due to gas leakage.

Two children died on Wednesday night while two women succumbed to their injuries on Thursday morning.

Three of the deceased were identified as Naushat, Hamza and Noor.

The four survivors are in critical condition at Mayo Hospital.

Meanwhile, all markets in the town remained closed on Thursday to bemoan the tragic incident.—APP
