HYDERABAD, Oct 31: The Islami Jamiat-i-Tulaba, has said that the agitation by the students will continue against the privatization of educational institutions and other anti- education policies.

Speaking at a news conference at the office of the student organization here on Thursday, the acting chief of the Islami Jamiat-i-Tulaba, Abdul Wasey, said that the recommendations of the task force on education had made higher education an exclusive preserve of rich people.

He said that the rulers had closed the doors of higher education to the poor students.

He said that the recommendations of the task force would not only adversely effect the students but also the teachers. Therefore, he added, the teachers and the students were continuing to hold demonstrations against the recommendations throughout the country.

Wasey said that in the civilised countries, health and education sectors were considered responsibilities of the government, but in Pakistan the education sector was being neglected by the government.

He demanded that the ban on student unions should be lifted, the inordinate increase in tuition fees should be withdrawn, separate universities should be established for girls students and as per the constitution of Pakistan, a uniform system of education and syllabus should be introduced.
