Truck hijacked

RAWALPINDI, Oct 30: Eight robbers took away a truck at gunpoint in Westridge on Wednesday, police said.

Abdul Ghafar, the truck driver told the police that he was returning after unloading his truck (PRK-9545) at a kiln when he found the road blocked.

The police said as the driver stopped the vehicle, about eight armed men overpowered him and the conductor and drove away the truck. The culprits also deprived the driver of Rs5,000, the police added.

ABDUCTED: A married woman was abducted and raped in Jatli, police said on Wednesday.

The woman (R), a resident of Jatli, lodged an FIR with the police saying that she was married to Shahid Iqbal some four year ago. A few days ago when she was returning home from bazaar, Mehmood abducted her, she stated in the FIR.

She told the police that she was detained in a house where the accused raped and tortured her.

She remained unconscious for six days and after regaining her senses she escaped from the scene and reported the incident to the police.

ACCIDENT: A man died while another one was injured when a speeding car hit a motorcycle in Tarnol on Tuesday, police said.

Dr Mohammad Amir, lodged an FIR with the police saying that he along with his friend Ibrar Akhtar were going home on the motorcycle (AKA-3511) when a speeding car hit their motorbike.

Ibrar Akhtar died on the spot while his friend Amir was critically injured.
