QUETTA, July 10: Six people, among them three tribesmen and a police constable, were shot dead in Quetta and Mastung on Sunday.

In Khad-Kocha area of Mastung district, armed men on a motorcycle intercepted a passenger van coming to Quetta from Kalat, dragged out three men and shot them dead. Levies Force personnel took the bodies to Mastung hospital.

“The deceased belong to Lango tribe and their bodies have been taken to Mangochar area in Kalat,” Levies Force sources said, adding the cause of the killing was tribal enmity.

The slain were identified as Fazlur Rehman, Abdul Qayyum and Mohammad Hasan.

In Quetta, two men on a motorbike shot dead three men near Qambrani Road.

Police constable Ashiq Hussain, who was on duty in the area, and Amjad Hussain and Abdul Qayyum of Hazara tribe, who had gone there to take part in partridge fight, were killed.

“It appears to be a case of sectarian killing,” a police officer said.
